Alexander Nemirovsky joined the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in 2011 as Assistant Principal Timpani and Percussionist, becoming Acting Principal Percussion in 2015. In 2017, he was designated a Zildjian Orchestral Artist.

Alexander was born in Moldova. He attended the Hebrew University of Jerusalem under the guidance of percussion teachers Jeffry Kovalsky and Pamela Jones.
He then studied jazz and Latin music in New York City under the tutelage of Robby Amen and Richie Flories. Alexander also studied with Dan Moshayev, Mark Moshayev, and Alon Bor between 2009 and 2013. In summer 2012, he studied in Berlin with Wieland Welzel, Torsten Schonfeld, and Rainer Seegers.

He is active as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, and recording artist.
