Prior to the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra concert at the Kravis Center, the annual AFIPO Benefit honored Diane Belfer in the Cohen Pavilion. Mrs. Belfer has single handedly championed the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra’s activities in the Palm Beach area for the past 20 years. As a special surprise for Mrs. Belfer, Zubin Mehta sent a video from Tel Aviv to thank her for her years of dedication to the Orchestra, the arts and Israel. Following the dinner, guests enjoyed the Orchestra’s performance conducted by Pinchas Zukerman and guest cellist Amanda Forsyth. Sponsors Flight Options, LLC and Hollywood Media Corporation joined guests in the Wallace Room for a champagne toast with Maestro Zukerman and Ms. Forsyth.
Many thanks to our special honoree and the evening’s Co-Chairs, Sara and Charles Fabrikant, Laurie Silvers and Mitchell Rubenstein and Robbi and Bruce Toll and event underwriters the Belfer, Cypres, Endelson and Mandel families for their valuable support. Major support from the Davis Foundation, Elaine Fabrikant, Ann and Robert Fromer, Dolores Kohl and Morris Kaplan, Lita and Mitchell Fromstein, Tamar and Milton S. Maltz and Joan and Jack Saltz helped AFIPO to exceed its goal.
SAVE THE DATE for the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra’s return to Palm Beach on February 20, 2011
